Income Protection or "Permanent Health Insurance" is designed to provide an income in the event that the insured is unable to work due to illness or injury. Unfortunately, in the international marketplace, these products are very few and far between and generally are only available to those in occupations that are 100% administrative in nature with no element of manual work whatsoever. If you are eligible for a plan of this type, you would normally be eligible for benefit of around a maximum of 75% of your income payable for up to two years after a waiting period of either 13 weeks or 26 weeks from the date of incapacity. |
